August 2007 I first wrote this article in 2006 and yet again the conservation area is under threat. Residents of conservation areas should be able to have confidence that developers won’t be able to spoil their local environment.

1985 Campaign to get Streatham Common listed as a conservation area
In 1985 the Streatham Common Environmental Cooperative was founded. The documents were passed to Humphrey Drummond by Mark Guthrie. Mark lived in Number 11 Streatham Common South who was one of the original members along with Bernard Jupp who lived in 10 Streatham Common South for many years.
